Florian Glatz has been a lawyer, software developer and consultant in the blockchain since 2014. He co-founded the Legal Tech Center and the German Blockchain Association, for which he serves as president. As a lawyer, Florian helps startups and corporations alike to navigate the uncharted waters of applied blockchain technology in a world of legacy legal systems.

Stephan Breidenbach

Prof. Dr. Stephan Breidenbach is a law professor (European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder), University of Vienna) and a serial entrepreneur. He has acted as arbitrator (ICC, CAS) and mediator in numerous national and international disputes. For the German chancellor Angela Merkel he coordinated the Future Dialogue in 2011/12. For the last fifteen years Stephan has developed legal tech for legal practitioners. His company knowledgeTools© International develops contract and plea generators as well as knowledge management systems for large-scale litigations (Toll Collect) and legislation (German Federal Ministry of Justice). He is the co-founder of, amongst others, BE Food AG, BioWink (Clue), betterplace.org, Schule im Aufbruch and ReDI School for Digital Integration.

Dr. Paul von Bünau is the Managing Director of idalab, a Berlin-based data science agency specializing in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematical Modeling and Data Strategy. idalab advises a wide range of clients in banking, mobility, biotech and the digital sector. Paul von Bünau studied mathematics and computer science and holds a PhD. in statistical data analysis.

Luis Ackermann ist Data Scientist und IT-Architekt. Vor rund drei Jahren gründete er Lex Ferenda und entwickelt seither Systeme zur automatisierten Verarbeitung von juristischen Daten und Software zur digitalen Unterstützung von Rechtsanwälten. Seine Spezialisierung liegt in den Themenbereichen Machine Learning und Datensicherheit, also in der Entwicklung von Algorithmen die Erkenntnisse aus Daten gewinnen und dabei hohe Vertraulichkeitsanforderungen erfüllen.

Dr. Cord Brügmann is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the German Bar Association. Prior to that, he was Director of the Legal Education Department of the German Bar Association. He is a member of the Berlin Bar. Cord was born in Minden/Westphalen, and he is married with two children. His past experiences include, amongst others, work for NGOs in Israel, the U.S. and Dachau, Germany, where he was director of an association for international youth exchange. Cord’s past charitable volunteer work includes working as a mediator in a Berlin inner city primary school. Cord studied law and history in München (Ludwig-Maximilians-University) an Berlin (TU Berlin). He acquired the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Dr. phil.), completing a thesis on legal action against anti-Semitic economic boycott during the Weimar Republic. He is President of the International Institute of Law Society Chief Executives (IILACE), a network of CEOs from all continents. Cord teaches law to BA students at a Berlin university.

Klaus-Lorenz Gebhardt has been with Mazars in Berlin for 14 years and is partner since 2010. As a lawyer and tax consultant, he advises on financial and supervisory law. The focus of Mr. Gebhardt’s work is on advising and designing investment funds and other financing instruments, especially for the real estate and energy sector. This includes the complete drawing up of a prospectus and the supervision of the approval procedure at the BaFin. He also advises investment funds, investment management companies on tax and legal issues. Furthermore, the topic crowdinvesting plays an important role; for example, in 2018, Mazars will host a one-month crowdfunding internship for young lawyers for the fourth time in Berlin.

Maximilian Schrems (usually referred to as Max Schrems) is an Austrian lawyer, author and privacy activist who became known for campaigns against Facebook for privacy violation, including its violations of European privacy laws and alleged transfer of personal data to the US National Security Agency (NSA) as part of the NSA's PRISM program. Schrems is the founder of NOYB – European Center for Digital Rights and has published a copy of his personal data revived from Facebook and documents relating to legal procedures on europe-v-facebook.org.
